This is the same author who wrote the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. I love his writing - it's so light and humorous and exciting. Will make you laugh, cry, and turn the pages as fast as you can read them. What more could you ask for?
Carter and Sadie Kane have never really had anything to do with each other except when Christmas holiday came around. Since their mother passed away when they were young they have been separated. Carter travels the globe with their infamous father, Julius Kane, while he gives lectures on ancient Egyptian magic and voodoo while Sadie attends a boarding school in London and lives with their grandparents. When their father is unexpectedly swept away by a mysterious force, Carter and Sadie are exposed to a world of magic and Egyptian gods and goddesses.
