A very exciting series, and a very clean book! Adventurous and action-packed, it will certainly keep you turning the pages. Lina Mayfleet and Doon Harrow live in an underground city called Ember. The entire city has been powered by and has heavily relied on for centuries by a huge Generator, and it is failing. Any day the lights of Ember could go out forever. Doon knows exactly how to fix it, and switches jobs with Lina so he can work in the Pipeworks. When Lina discovers a strange box with a timed-lock on it, she goes to Doon for help, and they soon realize it is the salvation for the city. Danger and selfishness escalating, Doon and Lina must solve the mysterious puzzle in order to save their civilization.
